📊 Job Summary
As Financial Controller, you will be responsible for overseeing the full spectrum of corporate financial operations, including capital investment planning, cash flow forecasting, regulatory compliance, and budget execution. You will play a central role in strategic financial decision-making while managing the internal finance team and external financial partners.
🧾 Strategic Responsibilities

Design and monitor the organization’s annual budget, financial forecasting, and variance analysis reports.

Lead the development of financial models to support business planning and long-term organizational goals.

Advise on project financing initiatives and liaise with C-suite executives on capital allocation strategies.

Manage the preparation of statutory reports including IFRS-compliant financial statements, VAT filings, and external audits.

Oversee risk management, asset control, and insurance programs.

Build and maintain strong relationships with banks, investors, and financial institutions.

Ensure compliance with all local and international financial regulations, tax laws, and reporting standards.
🛠 Operational Duties

Supervise the daily operations of the finance department across invoicing, disbursements, and financial reconciliations.

Approve financial transactions within the scope of Dangote Group’s authority and compliance policy.

Implement a robust financial accounting system using tools like SAP, SAGE, or other ERP platforms.

Oversee tenant invoicing, refund processing, and capital project funding cycles.

Ensure timely bank reconciliations, cash flow statements, and monthly budget performance reviews.

Define and monitor forex, asset, and liquidity management strategies.
🎓 Education & Qualifications

🎓 Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics

🎓 MBA or postgraduate finance qualification (preferred)

🧾 Professional Certifications: ACA, ACCA, ICAN, CIMA, CFA

🗂 Minimum of 8 years of finance experience, including 5+ years in a senior finance leadership role
🧠 Skills & Competencies

Strong knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)

Familiarity with tax compliance, pension schemes, and statutory reporting

Excellent leadership and financial risk management skills
