  • The Head of Storytelling will be responsible for scouting and managing creators, developing original creator-led formats and ensuring the smooth execution of projects. You’ll act as both a creative strategist (spotting trends, imagining collaborations, designing new shows) and a practical manager (negotiating deals, coordinating production, and tracking results).

Key Responsibilities
Creator Relationships & Partnerships:

  • Build and manage strong relationships with creators and influencers across multiple niches.
  • Scout, onboard, and nurture new talent into Pulse’s creator network.
  • Negotiate contracts, fees, and deliverables with creators and their representatives to ensure mutually beneficial agreements.
  • Act as the main liaison between Pulse and creators for all collaborations.

Concept & Format Development:

  • Develop and pitch new creator-led formats, shows, and series for Pulse platforms.
  • Identify smart collaboration opportunities with trending creators and cultural moments.
  • Work closely with creators to design concepts that feel authentic to their style while aligning with Pulse’s voice.
  • Package ideas into concepts that can be shared internally and externally.

Production Oversight:

  • Partner with the Head of Production to schedule and execute creator-led projects.
  • Coordinate shoots, logistics, and technical needs for creator collabs.
  • Ensure that final outputs are polished, optimised for social media, and meet platform-specific standards.
  • Work with videographers, editors, and designers to bring concepts to life.

Culture & Growth:

  • Stay ahead of creator trends, youth culture, and social platforms.
  • Position Pulse as the most creator-friendly media brand in Africa.
  • Collaborate with Social and Growth teams to amplify creator-led content and measure its impact.
  • Represent Pulse in creator communities, events, and networks.

Reporting & Insights:

  • Track creator project performance and report on reach, engagement, and impact.
  • Provide insights on which formats, creators, and collaborations drive the strongest results.
  • Maintain an up-to-date pipeline of creators and collaboration opportunities.

Requirements

  • 4–6 years’ experience in story telling, creator management, influencer marketing, or content strategy.
  • Strong knowledge of the African creator economy with established networks.
  • Proven ability to conceptualize new content formats and manage them end-to-end.
  • Negotiation and relationship management skills.
  • Familiarity with content production workflows.
  • Strong communication and people skills.
  • Bonus: prior experience as a creator or hands-on production/editing work.
